Under the roofs of Hannover - 1989
A look under the roofs of our city was the third volume published by the small KaJo publishing house. Why wander so far into the distance? Here, too, there were plenty of secrets hidden behind facades and roofs to be discovered. Roofs are not only a protective skin, but also a city's calling card. Whether factory roofs, mansards, dusty attics or the dome construction of the town hall - roofs can tell us a lot about our history and living conditions. So we climbed under the roofs of our city with Udo Iwannek, an inveterate Hanoverian and text author, to introduce previously unknown roofscapes, forgotten treasures and the people who live and work here. Many of the discoveries have long since disappeared and are, so to speak, history. The illustrated book was published in 1989.
