Small festival in the large garden 1986-2012

The heyday of the Herrenhausen Gardens began in 1680 with Elector Ernst-August and especially his wife Sophie. However, with the personal union and the move of George I as King of England to London, the gardens fell into "oblivion" and were not subsequently altered according to the latest fashions. This makes them one of the largest and most beautiful Baroque gardens in Europe today. The "Small Festival in the Large Garden" was launched in 1986 and has developed into one of the most successful events of its kind in Germany. Since the beginning, we have always been there as impressed visitors with our camera (and ladder) when jugglers, musicians, magicians and colorful masked people from all over the world filled the magnificent baroque gardens with joyful life. "The garden is the real performer", emphasized Harald Böhlmann, the man with the top hat and initiator of the festival, time and again. The volume was published in 2012 and brings together the most beautiful photographs of the unique atmosphere in this grandiose garden complex.
